Coronavirus information for new students in 2022

What you need to know if you’re thinking about joining us this year, including our teaching and student services and where to get personal advice.

We'll make sure that you can experience everything that we have to offer in-person and stay safe. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Teaching and learning plans

We will be on campus for the majority of teaching with supporting online learning where it has benefit for you, except for our distance education courses. We will do everything we can to limit the impact of the pandemic on your future study plans while keeping you safe.

Our approach to teaching and learning

Arrangements on campus

The government has removed all restrictions in England, including on teaching in English universities. Our London campus is open for everyone to visit with some guidelines still in place. These are based on government advice and our own health and safety assessments.

University COVID-19 guidelines

  • We strongly encourage students to wear a face covering in all teaching settings.
  • We expect students to wear face coverings in indoor spaces and at events, unless they are exempt.
  • We strongly recommend that all staff and students are vaccinated.
  • We ask everyone to stay at home if they have symptoms of a respiratory illness or COVID-19 and to take a test if they can.

Future changes to arrangements

There may be a need to update guidance or reintroduce restrictions for temporary periods. We will consider both external advice and the University’s Regulations before taking any decisions. Our priority will always be to maintain academic standards and quality. Where we do make any changes, we'll always keep you informed.

International students travelling to the UK

There are no restrictions on travel to the UK if you’re an international student joining us at our London campus in 2022. Make sure you check any restrictions on travel in your home country too.

COVID-19 testing

You do not need to take any COVID-19 tests when travelling to the UK from abroad. This applies whether you are fully vaccinated or not.

Passenger locator form

You do not need to fill in a passenger location form when travelling to the UK from abroad. This applies whether you are fully vaccinated or not.

Covid-19 vaccinations

Anyone can get the Covid-19 vaccination for free when you’re in the UK, as long as you’re over 18. You can go to a walk in centre or book your vaccinations once you have registered with a local GP in the UK.

Find more information in the NHS vaccination FAQs.
