International student life

Being in London opens up chances to meet people from all over the world and experience a unique student life.

There’s nowhere better than London to make the most of university.

Exploring London

London is voted the best student city in the world (QS Best Student Cities 2023) and we have to agree.

Being in London means you're close to museums and art galleries, shopping and nightlife - and so much green open space. It is a melting pot of different cultures, perspectives, and ideas with a diverse and vibrant student culture.

Get a sense of what it’s really like to study in this amazing city, by hearing from our international students.

International clubs and societies

There are over 50 clubs and societies that you can be a part of at Middlesex. If there isn’t one that you would like, you can also set up your own club or society with the help of the Students Union.

Some of our current international students are part of:

  • The Language and Cultural Exchange
  • Tennis club
  • KPop society
  • Anime Society
  • Volleyball
  • PakSoc
  • ArabSoc

Make friends and connections for life

You’ll join a community of students from 122 nationalities at Middlesex.

We recommend attending international orientation to help you settle in. Another great way to make friends is by living in one of our many halls of accommodation. Or join one of the clubs and societies where you can develop a skill, learn a new one, and make friends all at the same time.

International Student Ambassadors

A great way to earn some extra cash and gain work experience is by becoming one of our International Student Ambassadors. You’ll work alongside other students from all around the world, assist at a variety of events and support a range of marketing tasks.

Applications typically open in October.

  • UniHelp

UniHelp are a team of friendly advisors who can offer guidance, resolve enquiries and refer students to the appropriate specialist teams.

They are the first point of contact for students to access student support services and can make appointments for students to see a specialist or direct them to appropriate workshops or drop-in sessions where available.

To find out when staff are available for an appointment or to book onto a workshop, visit the UniHelp Appointments and Events page.

  • International Student Advice team

Our International Student Advice team is here to help you with any issues related to your immigration status during your time at Middlesex. They can also support you and offer guidance if your circumstances change or any difficulties arise relating to your Student route (formerly tier 4) visa.

Our advisers provide a non-judgemental and strictly confidential service. This means that we will not discuss any of the details of your visit, unless you give us permission to do so.

We offer both online and printed information as well as one-to-one support through appointments.
